Off the TV Grid

About a month ago, we received our Comcast bill. As would happen every 6 or so months, our bill had suddenly jumped up $40.

The old woman in me said in an old woman voice, "By jove! I'm tired of Comcast's cockamamy!"

We contacted Comcast to try to work something out that was reasonable.

Instead we found Comcast to be highly unreasonable.

Since we have no other cable providers in our neck of the woods, we decided to try out some tried and true rabbit ears for now.

However, last night the cable was cut and we had not yet purchased rabbit ears.

So what was this young, hip and happening couple to do without any TV?

We did a puzzle while listening to NPR Stories of the Day. In our house without cable. And then we went to bed at 9 pm.

29 is the new 89, kids.

If Andy needs internet at home of work, you may be able to have it billed directly to his company. Shoot me an email if you want any more info about that!

Way to show Comcast that you're not to be messed with! Meanwhile, we are continuing to let Comcast mess with us because I can't imagine not having cable. :-(

We kicked Comc-@ss-t to the curb also when the price jumped and they wouldn't budge on anything, but were able to switch to ATT U-verse to just get high speed internet. (WAY cheaper) And we also have no rabbit ears...yet. You should check out Miro and tvrss.net, it's what we use along with Miro, Hulu, etc. to catch up on network tv for now. :) But puzzling and hanging out sounds like a pretty good night to me.

And you guys make fun of Kristen... at least she has a TV with cable to catch Matlock and The Golden Girls, but only after the vacuuming is done ;)

Erin - I don't think Andy qualifies since he rarely works from home. :-( Monica - I don't think that ATT U-Verse is available where we are? We will have to check. We are thinking of Roku - I might have to e-mail you and here more detaisl about Miro though. :-)

I told my husband that you stuck it to Comcast. He said you're his hero.
